Webinars

As we navigate the trials and tribulations of balancing work and schooling from home, it is easy for things like self-care and playing to take a back seat due to time constraints and the overwhelming business of the day. But forgetting to be playful and engage in self-care could be detrimental to us as individuals, families, co-workers, and as a community. In this webinar, we will explore the intricacies of the Wellness Wheel, previously introduced in our last webinar. Demonstrations of various practical applications related to areas of life on the wheel will provide participants a chance to practice these applications in real time. These demonstrations will illustrate the benefits of managing stress and anxiety. We will also explore the importance and benefits of engaging in play activities. Materials will be presented, and activities that are easy and low cost will be demonstrated. There will also be a discussion on how play fosters development socially, emotionally, and cognitively and how it can help relieve stress and anxiety experienced by so many individuals, families, and the communities.

As children return to school and parents return to work, families are facing unprecedented times that have brought on significant challenges. We explore topics such as the emotional and physical impact stemming from COVID-19 and how this is amplified as our communities, schools, and offices continue to reopen. We also teach healthy coping skills to compensate for unhealthy thoughts and behavioral patterns developed during the past few months.
